The Cube Athens
The Cube Athens is an event, co-working and maker space, hosting over 25 technology start-ups made up of local and international teams. As a start-up cluster and innovation space in the heart of the city, The Cube is home to the majority of Athens’ innovators in the technology and making space. Bolstered by its core management team, its partnerships with technology training institutes, an investment fund, technology user groups and the maker movement, The Cube stands out as a hub of innovation.
Aim of the Cube is to provide high quality facilities and tools for entrepreneurs and innovators to turn ideas into reality. Some of the successful start-ups and projects that came to life at The Cube Athens include Taxibeat, Resin.io, Discoveroom, Innovation Accelerator, Ski Greece and the Openfund.
Throughout its seven floors, The Cube has a total of 22 rooms available to rent to project teams and start-ups in need of an enclosed office space. Additionally, The Cube hosts individuals and teams throughout the facility in common, open plan areas.
Providing a newly renovated maker space laboratory, The Cube also provides a fully equipped workshop lab and 3D printing facilities for D.I.Y. projects and workshops οn electronics, arduino, fashion design, jewelry making, woodworking and others. The open event space regularly hosts meet-ups, seminars and presentations across the ICT and entrepreneurial scene, open to join by anyone with an interest to connect and network with fellow practitioners.
The Cube was founded in 2013 by Mr. Stavros Messinis and his wife Ms. Maria Calafatis. Prior to The Cube, Mr. Messinis founded CoLab in 2009, Greece's first co-working space. Both are regularly hosting and facilitating Startup Weekends around the globe.
At the Athens Investment Summit, Mr. Messinis will moderate the afternoon thematic session on start-ups, and will provide a detailed overview on the Greek start-up ecosystem with an emphasis on the country’s opportunities and challenges to become a hub of entrepreneurship and innovation.
Looking forward to connect with investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals, the exhibition stand of the Cube is going to host 3 selected, promising start-ups that are currently looking for investments.
